The UN Disaster Management Technical Working Group, chaired by WFP, compiles regular updates on emerging humanitarian situations. It also provides the response from the UN and its development partners and updates on resources mobilized following any appeals.
Working with the Government of Malawi and Malawi Red Cross Society, the Working Group is compiling the Sub Regional Preparedness and Response for Southern African 2008 to address the damage caused by heavy rains and flooding in Malawi, Mozambique, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
