The UN Disaster Management Technical Working Group, chaired by WFP, compiles regular updates on emerging humanitarian situations. It also provides the response from the UN and its development partners and updates on resources mobilized following any appeals.
Working with the Government of Malawi and Malawi Red Cross Society, and other national and international humanitarian organisations, the Working Group plans and manages national disaster preparedness and response plans.
